The Florida Chapter of The I C A & CA with its sponsors are happy to report that the Seminar held in April was an instructional and networking success. David Case instructed the attendees in the proportional fundamentals in sizing and selecting interior mouldings. The event was attended by both Interior Designers and Architects. Mr. Case started with the fundamentals of the classical orders and the various selection and application of mouldings for your interiors. The class was an extension of many of the lectures we have heard in the past from Steve Simms and others. This event is a hallmark on how a local chapter can host a homegrown event from member/instructors from our own state. David Case is a practicing architect who holds the ICA & CA’s design certificate intensive from earlier this decade. We look to bring new events with similar home grown members & national instructors.
In addition, to the moulding class Mike Neff, representing Trustile doors conducted a seminar on the construction of doors. This class helped reinforce Mr. Case’s instruction and served as a catalyst to the event.
Furthermore, this event was enhanced by a hosted tour from David Chauvin of Millwork Internationals production facilities. David Chauvin has done work for notable architects throughout the south east, including the late A. Hays Town. This venue served as a wonderfully instructive setting for both design and production. Bravo!!
Lastly, Heather JanAlan, from Keim introduced its unique product (lime based),a stucco coloring system.
There are many to thank for this event. Please note, with out our sponsors this would not have been possible.
